How to remove hidden files from removable storage media and format using DOS commands

Sometimes there are lots of viruses in pen-drive or other removable storage media so blow some steps to format the drive with DOS commands or to unhide the virus. These are the strong commands that will fix your device errors.

Try it.

1)  (Unhide the files)

Open a dos prompt (Start > Run > cmd) and type:

attrib -r -h -s ./s z:\*.*

Hit Enter

This will change the attributes of all of the files on the pen drive. Read only, hidden, and system attributes will be removed. Replace the z: with your drive letter. Now you will be able to see them in Explorer, and delete them, without formatting anything.

2)  (format with DOS commands)

Open the DOS prompt (Start > Run > cmd)

and type

format z:

Hit Enter

This will format your drive. Replace Z: with the actual drive letter of your Drive.
